The Training Centre for Sustainable
Agriculture and Dairy (TCSAD), set up at
Jais, is the RGMVP’s livelihood extension
project in collaboration with the University
of Wisconsin, USA, under the Khorana
Programme. It has been set up to promote
awareness among and provide training to SHG
women and farmers to improve yield of crops
and breeds of cattle. The primary objective
of TCSAD is to achieve goals of sustainable
agriculture and dairy through income
generation, productivity enhancement,
resources conservation, environment friendly
practices, and community based technologies.
It is aimed at providing training to make

productive, environmentally/ecologically
sensitive, and capable of preserving the social
fabric of rural communities. Demonstration and
continuous training are held at TCSAD to enhance
knowledge and skills of SHG women and farmers.
Experts from the University of Wisconsin, along with
Indian experts and practitioners, provide advice to
farmers and SHG women. The institutional base of
SHGs and their federations provides an ideal
platform for scaling up the objective of TCSAD, and
900 CRPs and 36 Block Resource Persons will be
trained here in dairy and agriculture best
practices. |
